Forth Generation F-Body Suspension Rebuild Instructions February 8, 2009

Front Left Suspension

We have disassembled and re-assembled the suspension on these cars so many times that we thought it would be beneficial to the community to write a few instructions.  All the instructions are in down loadable PDF's so that you can make a copy and print it out and take it to the garage.  Remember, working on a raised car can be very dangerous.  If the suspension or brake system of a car is not put together properly serious injury or property damage could occur.  These instructions are not meant to be a replacement to the GM Service Manual or a certified mechanic.  If you are not 100% confident that you can do this work yourself, please contract a professional.

Forth Generation F-Body Suspension and Brake Parts List September 3, 2008
Forth Gen F-Body Suspension and Brake Parts List

Many people ask on many different forums what is a good suspension set-up for an F-Body used as a daily driver/weekend autocrosser/track day car.  Sam Strano of Strano Parts has put together a really nice package for all the major components, and he also stocks a few of the smaller items.  It's the small details that people tend to overlook so MLS Motor Racing has developed a comprehensive list of all the items one may need when rebuilding/modifying an F-Body suspension and brakes.

Note, this is a work in process and we hope to eventually document every item down to the last nut and bolt.  Please keep in mind that vendors have the right to update their inventory and prices at any time, so always check with them for the latest in part availability and price.

Sound limits have become a hot topic on many Solo boards these days.  Are the cars too loud?  Are sound levels costing us sites?  Are the sound levels approaching dangerous levels?  Are the current rules adequate?  These are the questions which are being debated and the SCCA has taken notice.
